2018 Commonwealth Games

David was appointed the Lead Producer -- Primetime for TVNZ's massive coverage of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.It marked the return to Free to Air Television for the Games and the return to a major sporting event for TVNZ. The project enabled TVNZ to have four channels on air with Games coverage TVNZ1 the flagship with integrated converge then Duke, Games Extra and Games on Line making up the family with coverage in longer forms of the events. In addition to this there was games On Demand for the web and other web channels. The project was based out of the TVNZ studio in Auckland NZ with 10 feeds in bound from a production on the ground in the Gold Coast along with 8 LIVE U Crews with reporters across the kiwi events and a fill time features crew filling colour stories daily.

David was part of the core team assembled in 2017 and assisted in the lead in and planning stage right though until the telecasts began and he stopped into the on air producer lead role. In addition to this he also oversaw the setting up of a daily Pacific Islands highlights show and other facets of the entire project.
